Housing is a key issue to Ontarians. B Local Ontario is happy to collaborate with Franz Hartmann and The Alliance for a Livable Ontario (ALO) and provide our network with an informative webinar focused on the issues surrounding housing affordability in our province and the roadblocks that lay ahead. This is an especially salient issue in light of the upcoming Ontario Provincial Election on February 27th, 2025.
The Alliance for a Livable Ontario is an alliance of people and groups representing hundreds of thousands of Ontarians from many different sectors. Active groups include farmers, environmentalists, housing activists, developers, housing providers, land use planners, health care providers and community organizations. Their goal is to help build a liveable Ontario that provides the housing we need in a way that builds a sustainable Ontario. In June 2024, they launched a campaign called Taking Action Together: Five Ways to Make Homes Affordable in Ontario.
